Dear Erik, can you forward this article to Representative Jamie Raskin? I am horribly electronically challenged or I would do so. Exemplary genius. Thank you!!!

I value your opinion. I too am an educator with a Ph.D. dedicated to multicultural education. My entire dissertation was rendered meaningless in this administration. Seven years of research. I am just as devastated as everyone else. Which is why I am paying attention to several sources of information on what is happening in the capital, around the world, and in the courts daily. My only goal is to help other Americans to do what we are all thinking: find what the best things we can do to help. Regret you felt it seemed condescending. Apologies.

Thank You! I appreciate the apology. I get your frustration as well, I don't have a Ph.D. I do though believe your work is essential. I am in a similar position with my current curriculum and certifications. I myself went to Wayne State University and it is where I was introduced to multicultural education. It opened my eyes to a whole new world, which I embraced completely. It became invaluable in the district I taught in, being there were 365 different languages and we were the hub for Iraq refugees. We had to develop and grow with the changes and our ESL program helped students and parents, building community.

I apologize as well, if I came off a bit defensive, it has been difficult watching the defunding of the Dept of Education. I am also struggling with the lack of awareness, I am being nice, of the impact it will have on this generation, moving forward. I have worked in some of the most poverty stricken communities and this is going to do harm, since meeting these students essential needs is often difficult. It can take months to gain trust in these areas and this will be another message that no one cares. I wish the politicians showed the passion and dedication, it takes to make the future a better one for all people.

I am use to having boots on the ground and connecting with communities, to help them get the resources needed to build a stronger one. So, I may be expecting, to much from the Democrats in office now. I would like to see them embrace the passion of Jasmine Crockett, AOC and many others in the current administration. I am an old dog, who loves working with the younger generations, to close gaps and learn from one another.

Hopefully we will see more of that because this administration doesn't believe in playing by the rules or fair. I also believe it's difficult to strategize if your attention is focused elsewhere and this is very much needed to be able to fight the injustices occurring.

I really appreciate your response it is always wonderful to speak to fellow educators.

That’s not it Michelle. Believe me they care and they’re hurting way more inside than we are. They know what’s happening. They know they wanna stop it. There’s a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes that we can’t know about. You don’t tell the other side your plans and the other side is Listening.

I see their stock portfolios grow and their book tours. As an educator and a union negotiator I am well aware that their are things going on behind the scenes... I though believe it is important to have transparency with those I represent and unfortunately they need to step it up...they are using the establishment playbook and it is costing the people of this country...you don't need to share your cards...but we have moved heavily right because over the last 40 years they have been to compromising... I came from people who understand that strategy and messaging are vital...not to mention if the people I represent have to suffer or they tell me that I should maybe look at something in a different light I do because I am well aware I am human and it's important to listen and communicate with those you represent...like Bernie and AOC...Jasmine Crockett and a few others...it's been very disappointing watching Chuck Schumer just give Trump the ability to go after the most vulnerable people in this country... I watched for 40 years everything the working class had get chipped away by the real Ponzi scheme trickle down economics...they insist on keeping the filibuster and don't use it when it could have helped a good majority who are not privy to insider training...so I don't believe I will be in agreement with you on this one 🤷‍♀️... honestly it's a bit arrogant and condescending to force your opinion when you could have taken a different approach not that it matters to me either way...but the proof is out there if you are willing to see it...we can't fix anything if we only see what we want to and maybe you should ask the people being thrown under the bus how they feel...just a thought

What if one’s representatives in the House and Senate are actual co-conspirators?

First, Republicans were Trump’s “marks,” the name con men give their victims. Then, as they twisted themselves into knots to defend the indefensible, they became his “pretzels.” Now, they are willing to become “traitors too.”

Apologies if the article offends, I spose could have phrased it better. I do not speak to republicans perse. I speak to the likes of Cotton, Cruze, his transition team, MTG, Gaetz, trump's actual lieutenants within the GOP. Those that were involved prior to the election and have helped after the election are traitors.

The rank-and-file House GOP are rebelling every day that they don't bring articles of impeachment or retake control of the purse strings. they are ACTIVELY choosing to join in on this through inaction. None of these people are republicans, they are rebelling against the execution of the constitution, they are traitors.

As for voters? They ARE marks. Conned, abused, minds melted by propaganda and fear. They may not be traitors, but those that continue to support him now, sure as hell aren't Americans.

...and those that did, every single one of them better be out in the streets every day trying to fix this mess they got us into, or they better never speak about "personal responsibility" or "accountability" ever again.

Sooo yeah, that's all I have to say about that :P

I would say that the inaction by Johnson and Company in the House of Representatives is purposeful enablement of Trump's rebellion against the lawful execution of the US Constitution, which brings me to this Supreme Court quote...

"It is not the intention of the court to say that no individual can be guilty of this crime who has not appeared in arms against his country. On the contrary, if war be actually levied, that is, if a body of men be actually assembled in order to effect by force a treasonable purpose, all those who perform any part, however minute, &c., and who are actually leagued in the general conspiracy, are traitors."

MARSHALL, Chief Justice. 1807 (US v Burr)"
